Since 1885 Bicycle is “riding” the card game. The 19th-century playing card company sparked these days by launching its own NFT collection – the “Genesis Collection”.
The art director Adrian Valenzuela is “behind the wheel” in creating their unique NFTs. As a result, Valenzuela envisioned how Bicycle playing cards will look like 1000 years from now. Yep, they go for the far future. On December 10th was launched the first part of the “Genesis Collection” via Kolectiv, the leading digital art collector’s platform. The first drop includes Bicycle cards from 10 up to the Aces – dropped in groups on different dates. 24 NFT Joker cards were also issued randomly.
The main drop is on December 16th

8,008 playing card NFTs named the “Main Collection” will drop for sale on December 16. Each item will feature an animated card tuck case and unique mint numbers from 1 through 8,008.
The “Main Collection” will cost 0.08 ETH per item and interested individuals can also pay in USD using the Shopify plug-in. What’s more – 32 randomly selected buyers of the “Main Collection” will also receive one of 32 NFTs from the so-called “Unique Collection”, i.e. cards from 2 to 9.

“The NFT launch demonstrates how Bicycle is leading the way for others as we continue to innovate and, in addition to introducing new tools that make our cards more digital and accessible, segue into a new era targeting younger generations.”, says Ann Viaene, Bicycle’s CMO.
2021 is the year we saw many companies with long history hit the NFT world, and we can just hope to see more.
